Somebody in every group owns the shot ski. It comes out at the tailgate, it comes out on the deck at four in the afternoon, and it has almost certainly been dropped at least once. This is where you get a good one.
Colorado Ski Chairs builds custom party skis and shot skis by hand in Manitou Springs, Colorado, from real skis rather than a blank plank cut to look like one. The glasses sit in modified bindings and lift straight out for washing, which matters more than anyone admits the morning after.
What you can put on one. Hand painted artwork in exterior oils, so it survives being outside and being handled. Colorado flag, mountain ranges, team colors, or names and a date for a wedding or an anniversary. A company logo is the one thing we do not paint: that goes on as a decal so the mark stays exact. Retro skis are available if you want something with a bit of history and a brand nobody has seen since the nineties.
Setups. Four boot glasses is the standard run, and two is popular for a smaller group. We have built considerably longer ones for people who asked nicely and had the wall space. There is also a DIY kit: if you already have a ski in the garage that you cannot throw out, we send the bindings and the removable boot glasses and you mount them yourself.
Weddings, events and gifts. A custom painted party ski with the date on it is a genuinely good wedding gift, and it keeps working long after the last of the cake is gone. How ordering works. Painted skis are made to order, usually two to four weeks. Some are ready to ship. We deliver locally throughout Colorado and ship nationwide to the lower 48. Tell us the colors, the names and the occasion and we will send a mockup before any paint goes on.

What exactly is a shot ski?
A shot ski is a single ski with shot glasses mounted along it, so that everyone holding it has to drink at the same moment. That is the whole idea and the whole appeal. Two glasses, four, six, however many people you want to commit at once. Ours are built on real retired skis and hand painted, so the thing sitting on the bar is a piece of somebody actual ski history rather than a novelty blank.
Where can I buy a shot ski?
Right here. Every party ski in this category is made in Manitou Springs, Colorado, on a genuine retired ski, hand painted in the colors, names and dates you ask for. A logo is the exception and goes on as a decal rather than paint, so the mark stays exact. Are shot skis allowed in bars?
That is the bar decision, not ours, and it varies by state and by license. Plenty of mountain town bars keep one behind the counter, and plenty of others will not let a group bring one in. If it is for a venue, ask the manager first. If it is for a house, a deck or a tailgate, no one is going to stop you.
Is shot ski one word or two?
Two words, most of the time. Shot ski. You will see shotski and shot-ski used just as often and nobody is going to correct you at a party. We call them party skis because half of what we build now carries a wedding date, a team name or a company logo rather than just glasses.
