Giant Adirondack chairs, six to eight feet tall
Nobody walks past one of these. That is the entire point. A giant Adirondack chair turns a patio, a brewery lawn or a trade show booth into somewhere people stop, climb up, and take a photograph they then post themselves. It is the rare piece of furniture that does marketing while it seats people.
Colorado Ski Chairs builds oversized wooden chairs by hand in Manitou Springs, Colorado in three sizes: 72 inches, 84 inches and 96 inches tall, which is six, seven and eight feet. They are hand oil stained, built on heavy solid wood frames, and made to live outdoors year round. Most go out carrying a company logo. That mark goes on as a UV vinyl decal rather than hand painted artwork, because a logo has to be exact and a decal holds the trademark shape and the corporate color precisely. Aluminum appliques are available if you want the logo to read as hardware and catch the light, and plastic appliques are an option as well. Any of the three can go on the front of the back rest or the reverse, which matters on a chair this size because people photograph it from both sides. The three finishes price differently, so call 303.775.7273 with your artwork and we will price it properly.

Three sizes
Six foot, seven foot and eight foot. The 96 inch version is the one that makes people pull the car over.

Extra wide back
A wider back panel gives more room for a logo, a mural or a full vinyl skin edge to edge.

Your branding on it
UV vinyl logos, brand colors, or a themed finish. Built for breweries, resorts, festivals and lobbies.
What we build
Sizes and styles
The 72 and 84 inch stained chair is the standard starting point. Going bigger, there is a 96 inch two tone chair and a 96 inch extra wide back version. The Extra Wide Back at 84 inches is the usual compromise between presence and something that still fits through a gate.
Branding options
Most of these go out branded. A basic UV vinyl logo on the back panel is the common choice. For maximum impact the full vinyl back chair is skinned edge to edge and top to bottom, which turns the whole chair into the graphic. Themed finishes are available too, like the surf themed 84 inch chair.
Matching bench
There is an XXL stained ski bench that takes a vinyl logo, which pairs with the chairs for a full branded setup rather than a single statement piece.

Practical notes
These are large, heavy pieces. They ship freight rather than parcel, and delivery needs somewhere the pallet can be set down. Local delivery and placement is available throughout Colorado. Tell us the site and we will talk through access before you order.
Frequently asked questions
How tall are they really?
Six feet, seven feet or eight feet, measured to the top of the back. The 96 inch chair is genuinely eight feet tall, so an adult sitting in it will not touch the ground.
Can you put our logo on it?
Yes. A UV vinyl logo on the back panel is standard, and colors can be matched to your brand. For full impact the whole back can be skinned edge to edge.
Can it stay outside?
Yes. The chairs are hand oil stained on solid wood and built for year round outdoor use, including a Colorado winter. There is a three year warranty on everything we make.
Can people actually sit in it?
Yes, and they will. These are functional chairs, not props. You will want to think about where people climb up, because they will do that too.
How does delivery work?
They ship freight because of the size and weight, and need space for a pallet drop. Local delivery and placement is available across Colorado. Ask us about access before ordering if the site is tight.
How long does an order take?
These are made to order, typically two to four weeks, longer if the branding is complex. If you have an event date, tell us and we will confirm whether it is achievable before you commit.
More questions people ask about giant Adirondack chairs
Are giant Adirondack chairs worth it?
As furniture, they are a lot of chair for one person. As a landmark, they earn their keep in a week. Businesses buy them because every visitor photographs the thing and tags the location, which is advertising that runs for years off a single purchase. Families buy them because the chair becomes where the picture gets taken, every summer, until the kids are taller than the armrest.
What is the most comfortable oversized Adirondack chair?
At six feet and up, comfort stops being about the seat angle and starts being about scale. Sitting in one is closer to sitting on a deck than in a chair, and most people end up sideways with their legs across the arm, which is exactly what everyone does. If you want something to actually read a book in, buy a normal sized chair as well and put the giant one where people will climb it.
How much does it cost to build a giant Adirondack chair?
More than people expect, because nothing scales politely. An eight foot chair needs framing lumber rather than deck boards, hardware rated for the load, and two people to move any part of it. Home builds also tend to skip the engineering and end up wobbling, which matters when adults are going to climb on it. Ours are built to be sat on and climbed on, hand oil stained for year round outdoor use, with a three year warranty. Prices are on each product page, and branded or oversized runs are quoted on a call at 303.775.7273.
