Office Wall Art and Branded Furniture Made From Real Retired Skis

Most lobbies look the same. Gray carpet, two ficus trees, a framed photo of a mountain that could be any mountain in any state. Then somebody mounts six retired snowboards on the wall in a hand painted mountain range with the company mark floated across the middle, and the people waiting for their ten am meeting get up to take a picture of it. That is the whole idea. We build office wall art and branded furniture in Manitou Springs, Colorado, from skis and snowboards that already had a life on the hill.

This category is about the spaces your company owns. Reception areas, entryways, conference rooms, break rooms, courtyards and trade show booths. Every piece is built from real retired gear, painted by hand, and finished with your logo applied the right way (more on that below, because it matters more than most people expect).

Ski shops and resorts order these for the obvious reason. Breweries, real estate offices, dealerships, climbing gyms and universities order them for a less obvious one, which is that a wall of upcycled snowboards says something a vinyl banner never will. Nothing here is stock.

Branded office murals

Real retired skis and boards installed as one piece, with the scene hand painted in exterior oils by our own artists. It becomes the wall people photograph on the way in.

Custom wall panels

Built to the wall rather than picked off a list. They started as a way to hide breaker boxes and cover wall damage, and that is still half of what they do.

Branded seating

Adirondack ski chairs, snowboard benches and replica chairlifts painted in your brand color. Sometimes one for the front entry, sometimes a dozen for an event.

Office wall art that already had a life on the hill

Our wall work comes in two shapes. Murals are built from real retired skis and snowboards and installed as a single piece, with the scene hand painted in exterior oils. A mountain range, a resort profile, a run somebody in the office knows by name. Wall panels are built to the dimensions of the actual wall and hand painted in weatherproof enamel, the same kind that goes on fire hydrants, so they hold up indoors or outside.

Panels also solve a problem nobody puts in a design brief. Breaker boxes, patched drywall, a stretch of block wall that has looked rough since 2009. Integrated backlighting is available when the panel is the focal point rather than the backdrop, and a laser cut logo made from upcycled skis and snowboards is the version people tend to remember.

Conference rooms and video call backdrops

A surprising number of these orders started with a video call, when somebody looked at their own background on a Monday morning and decided the blank wall behind them needed to do more work. A mural behind the head of the conference table gives every recorded meeting and every recruiting video the same backdrop, with no green screen and no step and repeat that screams trade show.

Furniture that people actually sit in

Wall art gets looked at. Furniture gets used, which is a different and better kind of attention. The pieces that go into offices most often are Adirondack ski chairs, ski and snowboard benches, and two person replica chairlift benches.

  • Adirondack ski chairs run 45 inches tall by 36 deep by 32 wide, with a taller 55 inch build for the six foot six crowd. Each one takes four to five pairs of retired skis on a Douglas Fir base.
  • Cup holder made from a repurposed ski binding, which is the one part of the chair no brand guideline covers.
  • Exterior oil paint, colorful and weatherproof, so a courtyard or a base area patio is fair game.
  • 400 lb weight capacity. Feel free to snuggle with your sweetie, though maybe not in the lobby.
  • 3 year hassle free warranty, which is longer than most lobby furniture gets. Yup.
  • Rocker conversion runs $75 more on repurposed oak wine barrel slats.
  • Two person replica chairlift benches measure roughly 83 inches tall by 24 deep and 40 wide, powder coated in your colors with a dedicated logo plate above or below the seat.
  • Ski cornhole board sets for the break room, the company picnic and the booth, made from repurposed skis and built for years of use.

One honest note on the chairlifts. Most of ours are handcrafted replicas built in our shop, not lifts pulled off a mountain. They never carried a skier and we will not tell you otherwise. When a piece is a genuine retired lift, the product name says so.

How your logo goes on, and why it is not painted

This is the part worth reading twice. We hand paint murals all day, in exterior oils, and those are painted by hand and never a decal. A logo is a different animal. A logo is never painted. The background color goes on by hand, cures, and then your logo is applied as a logo decal floated onto that painted surface, so the mark holds its exact shape and exact color every single time.

There is a reason for the rule. A brand mark has fixed geometry and fixed color values, and a brush will not hold either one. A logo decal holds your color exactly. Our very best freehand attempt holds your color, approximately, ish.

Aluminum appliques and plastic appliques are the alternatives when you want the mark to sit proud of the surface instead of flush, each priced differently, and the logo can go on the front or the back depending on how the piece sits in the room. Branded pricing depends on your artwork, the finish and the quantity, so we quote it on a call rather than list it.

Employee recognition that stays in the building

Plenty of companies use these pieces for milestone recognition without shipping anything home. A bench in the break room with a service anniversary painted into the background, a named seat by the front window, a panel in the hallway that collects the marks of every team that hit a number. The recognition lives where the work happens. If the piece should go home with the person instead, that is the branded gift side of the shop.

Ordering, lead time and delivery

Pick the base product and the size, then mention the logo in your order notes. We call you before anything gets built, to work through artwork, placement and finish. Made to order work runs two to four weeks, and some pieces are ready to ship right now. Most chairs ship free to the lower 48, and we deliver locally across Colorado including Colorado Springs, Denver, Breckenridge, Vail and Aspen.

Frequently asked questions

Will the color actually match our brand standards?

The logo will, because it goes on as a decal rather than as paint, which is exactly why we do it that way. Background colors are mixed in exterior oils and matched as closely as paint allows, and the chairlift frames are matched as closely as powder coat allows. Send your brand sheet with the order and we will talk it through before anything gets sprayed.

How does a mural or a wall panel mount, and how much wall do we need?

Murals are built from real skis and boards and installed as one piece, so they hang as a unit rather than as loose parts. Panels are built to your wall instead of to a standard size, so the honest answer is that we need measurements first. Call with the wall dimensions and a photo and we will tell you what fits.

Can these live outdoors, on a patio or in a courtyard?

Yes. Chairs and benches are finished in exterior oil paint and stain that is colorful and weather resistant, and the wall panels are painted in weatherproof enamel for indoor or outdoor use. Snow, sun and sprinklers are all accounted for.

We have a breaker box and some wall damage to cover. Can you work around that?

That is one of the original reasons these panels exist. We build to the wall, so a panel can be sized and mounted to cover a breaker box, a patched section or an awkward run of conduit while still allowing access where access is needed. Send measurements and a photo of the obstacle.

Can you outfit several offices with matching pieces?

Yes, and volume runs are common. Tell us the total count up front so we can match colors across the whole run rather than mixing batches. If you are starting with one location we will keep your colors and artwork on file for next time.

How do we get a price on branded office work?

On the phone. Branded pricing moves with the artwork, the logo method (decal, aluminum applique, plastic applique or laser cut), the finish and the quantity, so a listed number would be wrong for almost everybody. Call 303.775.7273 with your logo files, sizes and quantity.

Make the lobby worth photographing. Start with Wall Art, Branded Items, Indoor Decor and Furniture, Benches, Ski Lifts, Cornhole Board Sets or Custom Designs. Or call the shop at 303.775.7273. We answer the phone, and we would rather hear about your wall than guess at it.
