Adopted in 1960 and made the Special Forces regimental designator in 1984, and it has no business being rendered freehand. Background color and crest are both yours to choose.

Description
We get asked to paint insignia by hand fairly often, and we say no every time, because a crest with slightly wobbly lines is worse than no crest at all. The Special Forces crest here is a decal, floated onto a hand painted solid color back after the paint cures. Aluminum and plastic appliques are the other two ways we do it. The chair underneath is the same Adirondack we build for everybody else, made from retired skis in Colorado.
