Description
Red sun, yellow ground, four rays in four directions, done three times over. The Zia is a hard symbol to render badly and a satisfying one to paint by hand, and lined up as a set of three these chairs look less like patio furniture and more like a statement about where you are from.
- Set of three chairs, which takes twelve to fifteen pairs of retired skis to build. That is a lot of ski.
- Each chair is 45 inches tall by 36 inches deep by 32 inches wide, comfortable for people from 3 feet to 6 feet 10.
- Hand painted in high quality exterior oil paint, colorful and weatherproof, so the red stays red.
- Built in Colorado on sturdy Douglas Fir bases.
- Every chair includes a cup holder made from a repurposed ski binding, one of the few parts of a ski that survives the conversion intact.
- 400 lb weight capacity per chair and a 3 year hassle free warranty.
- Any of the three can be built as a rocker for $75 more, on repurposed oak wine barrel slats.
Three chairs is a hosting number. It fills out a porch, gives the two people who arrive early somewhere to sit and still leaves a seat open. Plenty of New Mexico residents and former residents drive north to ski every winter, and this set is how they bring some of that home. We can paint any state flag, and we are happy to mix flags across a set if the family is split.
