Volant put actual steel on top of their skis, which is why these still look sharp decades after their last ride up the lift. We keep a rack of them at the shop in Manitou Springs. Order this listing and we text you photos of what is on it right now so you choose your own four pairs.

• Four pairs of gently used steel Volant skis, selected by you from photos we send. No mystery box energy here.
• Sold as project material, so expect honest wear: edge scratches, base scuffs and the occasional sticker somebody loved a little too much.
• Four pairs is roughly what one Adirondack ski chair eats, since ours take four to five pairs apiece.
• Steel topsheets hold paint and hardware well, which is why builders keep asking us for these specifically.
• Graphics, lengths and eras vary pair to pair. That is most of the fun.
• Quantities are limited and they move, especially once the leaves turn.

These usually go to woodworkers, cabin owners and the one person in every family with a garage full of clamps. People build wall art, headboards, bar fronts, fence panels, coat racks and yes, chairs. If your plan grows past four pairs, tell us and we will see what else is on the rack.
