Anyone who has walked through an aspen grove after dark knows why this one works. The trunks go pale and vertical, the leaves hold onto the last of the light, and everything else disappears. Our artists paint the bark scars and the leaf edges by hand, one chair at a time, which is the only way to get that layered depth on a curved seat back.

The dark palette makes this an easy chair to place. It sits well against log siding, stucco or a stained deck, and it does not fight with whatever else you have going on out there. Buyers often order two, one for each side of a fire pit, and a few have had us add a name or a date low on the trunk where you only find it up close. Fall buyers sometimes ask for the leaves pushed further into gold, which we are glad to do, and the same grove can be painted onto a bench if you need seating for more than one.
