Bears know exactly when the light is best, which is usually right when you are trying to get the grill going. Our artists caught that moment here. The bear moves across the ridge in solid black, the Colorado sunset does the rest in orange, rose and a band of gold along the peaks. Painted by hand in exterior oils, so the color transitions stay soft instead of striped.

Wildlife murals move fast for us, and the bear is the one people request most. It goes to cabins, foothills yards and more than a few campgrounds, and it is a common gift for someone who has finally moved up the canyon.
